Grow with Me
Portable Smart Device
This is a set of dining utensils designed to meet the needs of children from infancy to adolescence at different stages. For the Munchkin brand, it offers an opportunity to introduce a completely new product line, while upgrading the portable lunchbox. This strategy will also help capture a larger share of the children’s market, extend the product’s lifespan, and maximize its value.
Self-eating
4+mons
When a four-month-old baby is learning to feed themselves, it's important to add a suction base to the utensils to ensure they don't fall to the ground. Bowls and plates of different sizes and depths can reasonably accommodate various types of food.
Home Dining
By the time a child reaches one year old, they are usually able to feed themselves. At this stage, the rubber suction base can be removed, turning the utensils into regular tableware for everyday use at home.
On The Go
By adding a lid and a cooling pack to the bottom, the set can meet various outdoor needs. For example, when a child eats slowly or has a small appetite, and the meal isn't finished when it's time to go out, the lid provides an excellent storage and transport solution. Additionally, different weather conditions and eating habits require different temperature controls. Foods that need to be kept cool can be stored with the cooling pack in the bottom. After returning home, the cooling pack can be removed and placed in the freezer for reuse next time.
Full Process
Secondary research shows there are too many competitors in the market.
It is very hard to stand out in the market as a lunch box. However, after the first round of design, I found out there were several user transition times during the interviews, especially after user validation of the prototypes.
